GlitchStep

What it does

A monophonic sixteen-step sequencer and AUv3 MIDI processor aimed at playing live. Steps carry note, gate, velocity and probability, each lane randomizes on its own from a dice button, and a ring sets how likely that is to land. Patterns stack into a playlist, a slice grid reorders which step plays when, and a glitch pad repeats one note at a rate you drag live.

In the demo

Jade drives Zeon and other synths in AUM, switching steps off for a rhythm, moving the start and end points, running the sequence backwards and tying steps into longer notes. She stacks patterns into a playlist with per-pattern rates, randomizes slices while it runs, then shrinks the window to a strip so the glitch pad stays reachable.

Worth knowing

Monophonic and MIDI only, so it needs an instrument after it and plays no chords. Undo goes back one step and no further, which matters when a dice roll lands well.
