Euclidean Sequencer

What it does

A MIDI sequencer built on Euclidean rhythms: set a step count and an event count and the app spaces them as evenly as it can. Four concentric rings run independently, each with its own note, velocity, gate, rotation, direction and speed multiplier, and its own port or MIDI channel. A grid underneath takes drawn melodies snapped to a key, scale and chord, and a randomize panel scrambles chosen parameters per band.

In the demo

Jade clears everything to one ring, adding parameters one at a time, then stacks four Bliss Omega instances and a drum kit across the bands. She draws notes against a scale, works the randomizer, and saves variations into programs switched live from a MIDI keyboard.

Worth knowing

It sends MIDI only and needs a sound source, though version 1.04 added standalone use and three engine modes: Euclidean, Polyrhythm and Polymeter, the last with time signatures, note types and a pattern sequencer that steps through programs on a held chord. Version 1.08 added a fourth, Poly Tempo, giving each band its own tempo so the rings drift apart and back into line. Anyone wanting fixed parts fights the app’s even-spacing logic.
