Drambo

What it does

A modular groovebox. Eight tracks, two sends and a master, and each track is built by stacking modules rather than opening a finished instrument. The picker splits into generators (oscillators, samplers, the Flexi Sampler, noise, audio input, AUv3 instruments), processors (filters, compressor, delay, gates, phasers), modulators (LFOs, envelopes) and lists for utilities, sequencing, timing and maths. Modules auto-patch as they are added and can be dragged to a new position, with colours showing what feeds what. A chain saves as one instrument, tracks take up to eight voices, and it runs as an AUv3 with MIDI learn.

In the demo

Jade opens it as a self-declared newbie and works the bundled tutorial patches, each carrying a text note on how it was built. She assembles a five-track pattern from a percussion randomizer, a preset electric guitar, a nylon guitar, kicks and a super saw.

Worth knowing

She says an hour cannot cover a quarter of this and plans follow-ups. A Waves extension is sold as a separate in-app purchase. Anyone after a playable instrument on opening is building one first.
