Cube Synth Pro

What it does

A morphing synthesizer whose main screen is an XY field with a travelling point and four sound paths, A to D. Each path carries its own level, pan, attack, fade, filter and noise, and dragging the point or redrawing its route crossfades between them as a note sounds. Envelopes are drawn separately for volume and for the X and Y axes, and an arpeggiator and effects with drive, phaser and flanger sit behind the main page. Almost every panel has its own randomizer. The library runs to 400 presets.

In the demo

Jade treats this as exploration rather than instruction, pointing at another channel’s longer tutorial for the mechanics. She drags the XY point around a preset, works the dice on each tab, opens the envelope pages, then runs the bass, string, vocal and pad banks in AUM with a reverb after it.

Worth knowing

There is no undo, so a sound worth keeping has to be saved before it is changed. This version is AUv3, where the earlier release was Inter-App Audio. Anyone wanting each parameter explained will want a different video.
