Chord Roulette

What it does

A MIDI plugin that sits in front of an instrument and turns every note reaching it into a chord. Four controls shape the result: octave, spread between the voices, a bank that steps through minor, harmonic minor, pentatonic and modal sets, and a size control for how many notes the chord holds. A transpose control moves the whole thing by semitones. Every parameter is exposed for automation, so an LFO or another app can move them while it plays, and settings save as presets.

In the demo

Jade plays it from a keyboard into a piano first, then drops the keyboard and feeds it from generative apps so the chords come from patterns she never touched. She wires an LFO to the spread, splits Piano Motifs across MIDI channels so only one of its three parts gets chorded while the rest go to a guitar and strings, and loads it into Logic as a MIDI effect.

Worth knowing

It makes no sound of its own and needs an instrument downstream. The App Store listing now carries the name Chord Roulette.
