Autony

What it does

An AUv3 MIDI plugin that generates evolving sequences for whatever it feeds. A generate button throws a fresh pattern, and knobs set the clock unit, sequence length, gate length and transpose, while a scale, chord and root note keep the output constrained. The reliability knob is the centre of it: at full the sequence plays as written, and as it drops the pattern stalls, runs backwards and rewrites itself. A quantity knob decides how much of that lands, thinning notes into rests. Every parameter is exposed for host modulation.

In the demo

Jade routes it into a guitar strummer, a trumpet, FAC Drum Kit and a Scaler choir, transposing down to reach the drum map. She drives the clock and scale knobs from an LFO app over MIDI CC, stacks it against Euclidean, and closes with a drone project running SynthScaper and Animoog.

Worth knowing

Being a MIDI plugin, it loads in AUM or Cubasis rather than GarageBand. There is no note display at all, only knobs and a sequence strip.
