What it does

A physical modelling synth that excites a mass spring network rather than an oscillator. A few macros shape the result: order for high frequency damping, force for bow pressure and friction noise, overtones for bow position, and drive for clipping, into a resonant low pass filter. Four profiles switch the network between standard, inharmonic, alternative and lo-fi. Every control has its own LFO, syncable to host tempo and draggable onto other parameters.

In the demo

Jade starts from the init patch and moves through each macro on its own so the engine is audible, then MIDI learns the movement and modulation macros to knobs on a Keystep. She runs the dice and recycle randomizers and layers several instances in AUM driven by Scaler.

Worth knowing

The interface is small on purpose, with no oscillator page behind it, and the sound sits toward ambient, drones and bowed textures. The price shown was introductory. A desktop version and paid expansion packs are sold on the Baby Audio site.
