What it does
A synth modelled on the analog string machines of the 1970s, which were built from sub-octave divider oscillators borrowed from transistor organs. Three voices layer up, a sub, the strings themselves and an octave above with a thinner character, over an attack, sustain and release envelope, vibrato that follows the same envelope, and low cut and high cut filters. A second tab holds the effects that gave those machines their sound: an ensemble, a phaser and a plate reverb, each switchable between mono and stereo.
In the demo
Jade opens it cold without having read the manual and works down the panel dial by dial, turning the sub up on its own, stretching the release out, then flipping the ensemble to stereo. She runs the presets and builds a short piece with Scaler feeding chords and a bass line into two instances.
Worth knowing
There are no samples, so the download and the CPU load stay light and polyphony is what costs. The interface is plain by design, and preset changes let the previous note ring out instead of cutting it.
