What it does
An eight-voice virtual analog synth from Rob Jackson (Waverley Instruments). Each voice has three variable-shape oscillators with wave folding, a noise source, two multimode ladder filters with drive, and four LFO-style modulators that can drift or act as extra envelopes. Delay, reverb and a compressor sit at the end of the chain, and a Generate button builds patches from sections that fit together rather than flat randomizing.
In the demo
Jade opens it in AUM with an Arturia KeyStep, starts from an init patch and works through one oscillator, the filter routing, the modulation sources and the effects tab by tab. She then plays through the 50 factory presets, the second half of which arrived in the update that added iPhone support.
Worth knowing
The tabbed layout is deeper than Rob’s earlier minimal apps, so it takes some reading of the manual. Anyone after a quick one-page synth may prefer his smaller releases.
