What it does
A recreation of the 1983 Roland MC-202 voice: one oscillator with saw and PWM pulse, a three-mode sub, noise, a four-pole lowpass filter, ADSR and a multi-shape LFO with tempo sync. Audio Damage adds eight-voice polyphony, MPE, MTS-ESP microtuning, voice spread and age drift, a multi-stage drive section and a playable on-screen keyboard.
In the demo
Jade plays the untouched init patch over a Logic project, then moves to AUM and works through the source mixer, filter, envelope, portamento and the Mods page. The second half is a long run through the bass, pad, lead, effects and percussion presets.
Worth knowing
There are no onboard effects, so the reverb heard on the pads comes from the host. The $4.99 iOS price is an introductory one that will rise. The desktop version is sold separately at audiodamage.com, $56 on sale at recording, normally $70.
