Gospel Drummer

What it does

A sampled drum instrument from Gospel Musicians (MIDIculous) with two gospel kits at 10 velocity layers and three round robins, urban kits, 1,000 MIDI grooves and fills, and a mixer with direct, overhead and room channels. Every piece has its own amp, filter, play mode and effects slot, with global and master effects on top, and outputs split to multi-out in a host.

In the demo

Jade downloads the samples to an external drive, plays the kits, loads grooves, imports her own MIDI, then plays it from an Alesis Nitro electronic kit, which auto-maps including her extra tom and double kick. She sets up multi-out in AUM and in Logic.

Worth knowing

iPad only on iOS, and the sounds sit in gospel, soul and R&B territory rather than rock or metal. The desktop version is sold separately from the developer’s site at a higher price.
