BLEASS Arpeggiator

What it does

An arpeggiator built as a MIDI generator with its own sound engine. Alongside the usual rate, octave range and play modes it adds a second pattern layer with its own algorithms, offset and chance, plus note repeat, gate, step jump, chord mode, polyphony and velocity spread. Two LFOs, a motion sequencer, a mod wheel and two XY pads each route to two destinations anywhere in the app. The built-in voice is one oscillator, two FM operators and a delay.

In the demo

Jade drives it from Scaler in AUM, first as a standalone instrument, then as a MIDI sender feeding Pianoteq and several Moog Mariana instances. She turns the pattern layer on and off against the same play mode so the added rhythmic layer is audible, then loads it in Logic Pro for iPad and records its output.

Worth knowing

The effects are a delay and nothing else, so the internal synth is a sketch voice rather than the point. A desktop version for Mac and Windows sells separately for around 39 dollars.
